The Deer Park Fire Department was formed in 1936 and the Deer Park Life Squad was formed in 1939. The Life Squad was the second organization of this type in the United States. On April 1, 1999 the department merged with the Silverton Fire Department to form a joint fire district. This station is now used by the City of Deer Park for city services.
