About. This site is dedicated to covering the fire apparatus of metropolitan Cincinnati and in particular, the apparatus of the many Hamilton County and Northern Kentucky suburban departments. Although I do cover the Cincinnati Fire Department with what photography I have, the real intention is to showcase the suburban departments and the diverse array of interesting (and colorful) apparatus in the area. The CFD History web site of George Bredestege does a far superior job of covering the Cincinnati Fire Department than this site so please reference his site for more in depth information on the CFD. And also a word of thanks to George, his site has been invaluable as a reference tool, in particular the CFD apparatus information and the listing of Hamilton County fire departments. A word on the selection of the Featured Departments, there is nothing special in the selection process, they just happen to be the 4 closest departments to where I live (KY) and work (OH). Consequently I have more photography available and can go a little more in depth on these particular departments.
